Africroots® Returns & Refunds Policy
At Africroots®, each garment is carefully designed and produced. We encourage customers to choose thoughtfully before purchasing. This policy is designed to be clear, fair, and compliant with Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
Australian Consumer Law Guarantees
Nothing in this policy excludes or limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a refund, replacement, or repair if a product:
- Has a major failure
- Is faulty or unsafe
- Is not as described
- Is significantly different from the product advertised
If the failure is major, you may choose a refund or replacement.
If the failure is minor, Africroots may choose to repair, replace, or refund the item.
No Refunds for Change of Mind
Africroots® does not offer refunds for change of mind, including but not limited to:
- Incorrect size selection
- Preference for a different style, colour, or fabric
- Ordering the wrong item
- No longer wanting the item
Please choose carefully before placing your order.
Limited Change of Mind Returns (Store Credit Only)
At our discretion, Africroots® may offer a store credit only (no refunds) for change-of-mind returns if all of the following conditions are met:
- Return request is submitted within 7 days of delivery
- Item is unworn, unused, unwashed, and in resaleable condition
- All original tags, labels, and packaging remain intact
- Item shows no signs of wear, damage, odours, or makeup marks
- Proof of purchase is provided
Africroots® reserves the right to reject any return that does not meet these conditions.
Items Excluded From Returns
The following items are strictly non-returnable unless required by Australian Consumer Law:
- Sale or discounted items
- Clearance items
- Gift cards
- Accessories, earrings, underwear, and swimwear
- Custom-made, limited-edition, or made-to-order items
Faulty or Incorrect Items
If you believe your item is faulty or incorrect, you must notify us within 7 days of delivery by emailing support@africoroots.com
- Your order number
- A clear description of the issue
- Clear photos or video evidence
Failure to notify us within this timeframe may result in the claim being declined, except where ACL requires otherwise.
Africroots® will assess the issue and, where a fault is confirmed, provide a refund, replacement, or repair in accordance with Australian Consumer Law. Return shipping costs for confirmed faults will be covered by Africroots.
What Is Not Considered a Fault
The following are not faults under Australian Consumer Law:
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage caused by misuse, negligence, or incorrect washing
- Failure to follow care instructions
- Minor variations in colour, fabric texture, print placement, or sizing
- Variations caused by lighting, photography, or screen displays
Return Process
1. Contact support@africoroots.com for return approval
2. Unauthorised returns will not be accepted
3. Items must be returned using tracked postage
4. Once inspected, we will notify you of the outcome
5. Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days
Return Shipping Costs
- Faulty or incorrect items: Africroots® covers return shipping
- Change-of-mind returns: customer is responsible for all shipping costs
- Original shipping fees are non-refundable
Africroots® Right to Refuse Returns
Africroots® reserves the right to refuse returns that:
- Show signs of wear or use
- Are returned outside the allowed timeframe
- Do not meet hygiene or resale standards
- Are returned without prior approval
